I have a stong passion to learn more about the wonderful world of the dog. From wolves, to selective breeding for working purposes, to the pet world of today. My strategy is to see the whole of the dog, and not just the presenting behaviours.
I have over 15+ years of professionally teaching public classes, private training and behavioural consultations. I like to teach through play and helping the dog make the desired behaviour through choice.
I do voluntary work for the Blue Cross, visiting schools etc, promoting the charity and presenting talks from how to remain safe around dogs, what pets need, to our wellbeing and that of our pets.
I also volunteer my time as a behaviourist/trainer for OUR dog foundation, which rescues dogs from the kill shelters in Romania and finds them loving homes in the UK.
My two previous dogs were both part of the Pets as Therapy programme and I still continue my studies into the more holistic approach.
I have, and still do, attend courses from basic puppy training to advanced and everything in between. I had the pleasure of attending a course, which highlighted the wonderful work of how scent detection dogs are being used to help our military personnel who are suffering with PTSD.
I also have experience in training assistance dogs and special needs dogs.
Currently studying for two advanced certificates in dog reactivity.
